After a very successful freshman year for Redfishteam.com, changes are taking place for the upcoming 2007 season.  Trent Bishop (pictured above right) will be replacing Steve Cowart as co-angler for Redfishteam.com.  Steve decided to leave the team after the IFA National Championships.  He will be focusing his time and attention to his family.  “Steve was the backbone of the team last year.  He was the steadier and more consistent angler of the two of us”, said Chris Kohnert of Redfishteam.com.  “It is going to be tough without him, but I completely respect and understand his priorities and decision.  I look forward to the upcoming season with Trent.  I have seen his work ethic and dedication and I am very excited to have him on the team.  Trent is a very skilled angler and I know we will do fine.” Kohnert said.

Trent is a Rio Grande Valley native.  The two friends have been fishing together for years.  “As in any sport, the pressures of tournament fishing require personalities that can handle both highs and lows.  Trent and I are great friends that have seen each other through some pretty tough times.  We are both very competitive and share a mutual respect that will help us in the upcoming season.  Trent’s business background is in sales and marketing.  He is going to be a great asset to the sponsors as well”, said Kohnert.

With the first tournament around the corner in early March the boys are getting ready and are expecting delivery of their new boat any day.  Here’s to a great sophomore year!
