RedfishTeam.com Completes First Two Stops of the 2008 Season - Part 2

(April 19, 2008) Port Aransas, TX – The Inshore Fishing Association (I.F.A.) hosted their first Texas event of the 2008 season at Port Aransas today.  Participation was very strong with an estimated 90 team field.

Chris Kohnert and Trent Bishop of RedfishTeam.com began their day very strong.  “By 8:20 a.m., Chris and I had already found two schools, had one double hook up and landed six fish”, said Bishop.  “We seemed to be upgrading weight with every fish, which was nice.  It was shaping up to be one the most active tournament days we have ever had.”

Although the duo went on to catch fish all day, they could not break the 12 lb threshold.  “We had caught some very nice fish on Friday, so we had every reason to believe there were some seven pounders in there”, said Kohnert.  “We were catching too many fish to pick up and move, but it just turned out we couldn’t land the biggies.”

The team would go on to weigh in 11.79 lbs., which was good enough to place 32nd in the event.

The team will take two weeks off before traveling to Matagorda for the second Texas Redfish Series event on May 3rd.
